Polarimeter (LO-348)

A monochromatic yellow LED light source fitted inside a cylindrical housing operated on 10V DC. The simplified construction makes it easy to study the topic in any laboratory. A 10cm long specimen tube is used for observing the concentration and the angle of rotation of different solutions. The outer edge of the lid has a pointer, which coincides with the scale printed on the outer surface of the cylindrical body. On rotating the lid, containing second polarizer the position for extinction can be found for different solution concentration on the lid of the apparatus.
